If you’re nervous about stepping foot inside a gym
If you’re nervous about joining the gym because you think you don’t have the “required” fitness or skill level, you shouldn’t be! Everybody starts somewhere. You don’t have to be fit to train in the gym. You go to the gym to get stronger, more confident, and then you’ll become skillful.
MK Boxing gym is in the business to train any fitness level: whether you are a beginner or have been a member of a gym a long time ago; or an advanced athlete that needs that extra push to take their fitness to the next level.
Setting the right intention
When joining a gym check your intentions. Without a clear intention, it’s easy to crumble when the going gets rough. The right intention helps to stay motivated and perform better during classes.
If you are a go-getter person, set intentions that help with reaching sports goals. Intentions can be an image, such as seeing yourself win at some competition, or intentions can be words that evoke emotions for you such as “peace”, “solid” or “focus”.
If you are a person who doesn’t like to push yourself out of limits, setting short-term goals may provide a sense of focus and stability. Go to the gym, do it for fun.
Personal training class
Most people we speak to say they are confused with what they should be doing in the gym in order to get the results that they truly desire. As personal trainers, we understand there is a science to training people’s bodies to look and feel a certain way and we take that very seriously.
It is not about how long you work out, it is about what you are doing in your workouts and if you are doing them in the right order and at the right time. We will show you how to do all of that and more.
