Grappling Basics

Grappling as hand-to-hand combat is a sport that consists of gripping or seizing the opponent. Similarly to wrestling, grappling is used at close range to gain a physical advantage over an opponent such as imposing a position or to cause injury to the opponent.

Grappling covers techniques from other disciplines, styles and martial arts that are practiced both as combat sports and for self-defense.

Grappling sparrings often involve takedowns and ground control and may end when a contestant concedes defeat.

Class description

The class will cover main positions of control, escapes from main control positions, and submissions that can be used in self-defense and competition.

Who can join the class

Everyone at all fitness levels is encouraged to attend, and we promise everyone will receive an awesome workout each day!
